MINI Countryman

When it comes to keeping you moving even if you have mobility issues, few brands are as comprehensive as MINI.

The Motability scheme was founded in 1977 and it allows those in receipt of certain types of benefits - higher rate of disability living allowance (DLA) or personal independence payment (PIP), war pensioners' mobility supplement (WPMS) or armed forces independence payment (AFIP) - to exchange a proportion of their allowance for a new vehicle.

The MINI Hatch (in 3 or 5 door form), Clubman, Paceman and Countryman models are all available to lease through Motability. You only pay an advance fee (if applicable) and then, in exchange for the mobility component of your payment, you'll receive a new car with few running costs. Insurance and road tax, servicing and repair, accident and breakdown cover are all included.

Both the 3-door and 5-door MINI Hatch are available with no advance payment and your total DLA allowance (£57.94 per week for WPMS) for the 1.5-litre petrol Cooper model, with a manual gearbox - automatic versions are also available, with a £499 advance payment (£0 advance and £61.28 weekly for WPMS). The available range runs right through to the Cooper SD and Cooper S versions, so the full suite of performance and economy models are available to suit your needs.

The Clubman estate is also available, adding some further practicality should you have need of extra boot space. Again, the full spread of engines is available, from 1.5-litre petrol Cooper to 2.0-litre petrol and diesel Cooper S and Cooper SD. All versions are available with an automatic gearbox, from £1,499 advance payment, or £999 for a manual model.

MINI's compact SUV pairing of Paceman and Countryman are part of the Motability scheme. Of particular note is the Countryman Cooper SD with ALL4 four-wheel drive, available from just £549 advance payment or £1,049 for the same car with an automatic gearbox. This car adds not only the excellent raised driving position and practicality of the 350 litre boot, but the all-weather use of ALL4 four-wheel drive.
